Coalition Member of Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) - NEWA

The Network of Ethiopian Women’s Associations (NEWA) is a non-partisan and non-governmental network established in 2003 by a group of women seeking to create synergy and a stronger advocacy voice for women’s advancement; it was established by 13 local associations and organizations. Currently, NEWA had reached a membership of more than 42 organizations and associations working for women and children. EWRA is one of the active members and Chair of the NEWA General Assembly.

Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) designed a comprehensive and multi-sectoral programming approach to contribute to sustainable and scalable economic empowerment of rural and urban women/girls in Ethiopia. The program encompasses interlinked and integrated interventions aiming at sustainable results and multiplier effects.   Promoting and Supporting Enabling Policy, Legal, and Social Environment; Enhancement of  Institutional and Individual Capacities and  Private Sectors Engagement are the key central programmatic components across all the interventions.

EWRA is one of implementing partners and Resource mobilization team members for the Regional WEE hub.
